Hello fellow Warriors! Specifically to those few who remember me :o) I still exist. I haven't attended either class reunion but I ran across this site and decided to make my presence known. Something I rarely did in the past ! Perhaps I will make an attempt to attend the 2012 reunion...perhaps.

Yesterday, I read in The Commercial Appeal that Vincent "Ben" Edward Hendriex died in California. He actually died on December 20, 2009, I do not know what happened.

This is Wayne Shaw, proud to be a Central Warrior. Do we know of any that have passed from our class? Mr. Mckee is living in Arkansas and was teaching water skiing for those who remember him. Albert Jackson the band director from Central is now the band director at a college in Oklahoma. Jay Boyd had gray hair the last time I saw him....15 years ago....I can imagine what he looks like now. Life is good, life is short, life is to precious to live it angry or in regret. Bless all of the class mates from Year 82.

Hello guys, you have one of the band members on line now....this is Wayne Shaw. I have not seen a lot of people since Memphis State days. I am married now...for the @$#@$ time...yes divorced and remarried. I have a daughter that is 19 that goes to TSU. I live in Little Rock, AR now by the air force base. I work for Cardinal Health and I have a photography business...I write gospel stage plays and am trying to build a ministry. I have been trying to find Floyd Holiday for years...if anyone ever hears from him...give him my email or tell him to check site. I really miss those days...and I miss my old pant size...we I had lost 30lbs after high school...but I got them back.

Hey ya'll :) Yes, there is going to be a 30th reunion in 2012. I would like to start forming a committee in 2010, so please let me know if you are interested, as I would like for this to be a huge success and I could any and all help available. Hello, to all of my classmates of 1982! I was looking in my year book just the other day and I started searching for Central High School Alumni information. It was great to run across this website. Well, a little about what I have been doing over the last 25 years. I went to UT Knoxville for a couple of years, but had to leave early due to personal problems at home. I joined the navy in 1985 and spent 20 years riding submarines all over the world. I have lived in Illinois, Hawaii, California, and Washington where I now reside. I work for Northrop Grumman Corporation. I met my wife Vicki while attending UT and we have been married for 21 years and we have one son that is 15 years old and a sophomore in high school. I have enjoyed reading everyone's comments and I hate that I have not been able to attend any of the previous reunions. Now that I am retired from the Navy and not away from home so much on deployments I might be able to make it to the 30 year reunion. Feel free to contact me by email if you are ever going to be in the Seattle, Washington area and maybe we will be able to see each other, or if you would just like to drop me a line and say hello. It was good to see the pictures of everyone on the website also. I too am deeply sorry about the loss of our fellow classmates.

Hello class of '82! It has been great reading over the guestbook. I lost touch with everyone over the years. I live in a little town just south of St Louis, Mo. I have 4 daughters: Erica(22), Nichole(21), Krystle(17), and Brittni(16) and 2 granddaughters: Lybbie(3 1/2) and Katie(18mos). Hello Warriors. Interloper here, from the class of '83. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. I've been lurking here for a few years, checking in 2 or 3 times a year, and I'm amazed that the guestbook keeps going. You guys just won't let this thing die! It's been a blast reading your comments. Too bad, there isn't a site for Central alumni, just to have a message board and maybe even a photo section. I'd make one myself, if I thought there'd be enough interest. Classmates is such a rip. Fifteen bucks to email somebody, they've got to be kidding. Anyway, thanks Laurie, for keeping this thing up. I couldn't let it go a whole year without a comment! Everybody: I still think about you, and if I failed to reply to an e-mail (Leslie :) following the reunion, I am truly sorry. Time makes things get away from us. I'm lucky to keep up with my kids! Belated alumni connection report: family & I in DC August last year, at a Potomac Cannons games (Reds minor league). Is that Elizabeth Deininger? OMG! Their first trip to the ballgame since moving to the area happens to be the night we go to the ballgame on our four day trip. I'm back working at the museum part-time; my job includes travel. Anyone in Reno, or Boston? So how are all the 41-year-olds holding up?

I am forwarding this e-mail I recieved friday Sept. 19 from my sister Raquel. Keith Williams was in the Class of 80. I just received the following email from Ronnie Huffstedler...thought you would want to know. (You may have already received from Ronnie): Good morning all, I have sad news to report, Keith Williams has passed away due to an apparent Heart Attack. It happened at his job site where he had been working. Debbie (Williams) Brown called to inform me late last night (09/18/03). It should be in the Memphis paper today (09/19/03). If there is any one that I have missed or anyone that you can think of who knew Keith, please pass along. Take care Ronnie

Well it's not everyday that I can hustle, slide, bump and spank down memory lane!!! There are none better and few as good(in the words or Ms. Leffler) when it comes to partying. You guys & girls were & are the real deal. I almost forgot I had a husband and kids. But seriously, it's a good thing Airienne forgot the pom-poms. Gretchen, Laura, Romona Missy & I would have done our little "Thriller" routine. Speaking of Airienne, she funked up the plane back to DC with her Ben-Gay. Bless her heart, she tried to hang. Anyway, everyone across the city knew Central had the cutest and smartest girls, especially the class of '82. Let's face it we are legends. But now that we've matured we're like the finest, most intelligent women across the country!! I can hardly stand it!! Anyway much love to Jeff, Cedric, Jerome, Kevin, Thurman, Donald, Floyd, Michael, Dennis, Harold... and any other guy that I may have omitted. I love men, just ad much as they love me. It was a thrill to be astonished at us all, how great we looked, how great we're doing, how wonderful the people we have drawn to us are. It was all a huge reminder of how great the Class of 1982 is!!!

I just want to say that it was so great to see all my friends and it was so gratifying that what made me become friends with you so many years ago (and the case of my Greenie friends, almost thirty years ago)is still alive and kickin'. Laurie, honey, you rock. Missy Brown, you are so damn funny and crazy. "Weren't you listening, Leigh!!!" Michelle Washburn, if I didn't like you so much, I would slap you for being skinnier than you were in high school! Tracy Tims, I want to go on a long car trip with your family just to see how much crazy fun we could have. Gretchen Orvis, you are just as sweet and devilish as ever. Jannet Douglass, you haven't changed a bit. To everbody else, y'all must have cornered the market on Botox, because you guys look mighty good for pushing, "gulp" 4-0. I hope this won't be the last time we get together. I need to people in my life who can make fun of Levester Jones with me.

1. The people who coordinated and organized the event. Great job! 2. The Ladies of the class of 1982 are still as beautiful as ever. You all look absolutely marvelous! 3. I appreciated the opportunity to reflect on my blessing to have known our classmates who are now in heaven. The memorial was beautiful. 4. Seeing those pictures of myself in the seventh grade with the BIG AFRO. My hair weighed more than I did! 5. Dancing with Tish and Laurie. Gotta do that again someday. New Orleans would be a great place to start. 6. Lisa Stovall has more energy than my two-year old. Lisa, you are a lovely one. Tom Word, Nancy, Missy, and Leslie know how to get their groove on :) 7. My prom date showed up (Sandra). Finally got a chance to see Laura Scholes. I've been wanting to see her for many years. 8. Kateh Esmaeli is an incredible person with an incredible perspective! I enjoyed talking to her. I'm looking forward to buying some of her art. 9. My prom date was there. Sandra Ingram. She's classy. Margaret Powell looks as if she graduated from high school last year. Cedric Brown will still have you cracking up. 10. Lastly, I appreciated that our small group HAD BIG GROUP FUN...TOO MUCH FUN!!!

I just want to ditto all the comments about the reunion. It was a total blast seeing everyone. I had too much fun at everything. I too laughed until I felt ill. It is official for all that didn't know Leigh and Nancy are LDJ's and always were. As for the LDJ's, we are still the funk in the fire!! Cedric, you are still too crazy!! Everyone who put it together, you did a heck of a job and anyone who missed it really missed out. I had said I wasn't sure if I would make a 30th but after this weekend, I can't wait. We all looked too good!! Way to go Class of 82!

The reunion was a blast!! I had a wonderful time. Eventhough I was only able to attend Friday I still had a wonderful time. Lisa, I didn't recognize your first date either (smile).
