This is an honest retrospective of my daily walk. I wrote this just a couple of days before my 51st birthday (and sang it as a special the next evening, as I was scheduled to sing a solo Sunday night, with instrumental backup of our praise band). I hope it blesses and encourages anyone else who acknowledges that we don't have all the answers, but we know and trust the One who does.

The recording was done on 4 tracks. The chorused, 12-string guitar effect was done by recording 2 guitar tracks with the same 6-string, except the 2nd time it was played a key lower and capo'd 2. Other than applying some compression on each track, no other effects (reverb, etc) were added to the mix.

The longer that I live
The less I really know
Of how all things have come to be
And which way they will go
Yet still I know You're faithful
And on this journey, too,
To give us daily manna
And lead my steps to You...

[Refrain]
Sometimes it is my unbelief
Sometimes it is the veil
That keeps us from the perfect sight
That one Day will prevail
Until that day, Lord, hold my hand
And lead me thru the maze
Til questions lead to answers
And pondering turns to praise.

Without your grace and mercy
I'd surely quickly fall
You are my faithful Savior
You are my All in All
If I will only listen
And seek Your face in prayer
You promise You will answer
And peace is waiting there...

[Refrain]
Sometimes it is my unbelief
Sometimes it is the veil
That keeps us from the perfect sight
That one Day will prevail
Until that day, Lord, hold my hand
And lead me thru the maze
Til questions lead to answers
And pondering turns to praise.
