This song was written by request especially for Church is Sacred Heart in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, to celebrate the arrival of their new pastor and his 25 years of service in the ministry. As many of you know, "pastor" is Spanish for "shepherd", so in this song, shepherd is referring to the minister.

Be now our shepherd, breaking the Bread of Life,
and feeding God's children.
Leading us on as we worship the Risen Lord
and serve Him forever.

We thank the Almighty and open our hearts, 
receiving you gladly in truth and in love. 
Your faithful obedience in serving the Lord 
reflecting the grace of our Father above.

We join now together of one heart and mind, 
to live for the Lord as we serve by your side. 
And Jesus Himself is our witness today,
